Diamonds have been imitated by artificial materials for many years, and there are advanced simulants with properties that closely resemble them. A diamond tester uses an electronic thermal probe to separate diamonds from those imitations: the probe converts the level of thermal conductivity into a positive or negative result. Diamonds are an extremely effective thermal conductor whereas the simulants are insulators, so the tester rules the simulants out.

The wall clock is one of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to consistently measure intervals of time. Our range includes grandfather clocks through to contemporary designs.

Watch batteries are small single-cell batteries used to power portable electronics such as wrist watches and pocket calculators. We are also stockists of Renata batteries in South Africa.

We sell watch straps from leather through to metal, watchmaker tools, and clock movements — the collection of gears inside a mechanical clock that moves the hands, powered by weights or springs, keeping accurate time.

The range also includes gold scales, gold testers and jewellery cleaners. Gold testers are invaluable in helping you filter through imitations and gold-plated items, and jewellery cleaners prevent the build-up of dirt and tarnishing.

We are dealers of watch spares, and we manufacture our own brand of watches known as Farah Watches.
